Overview

The role of Sr. Forward Deployed Engineer (FDE) at Databricks involves working with customers to develop and productionize solutions that address their data and AI challenges. Key Responsibilities

• Lead impactful technical projects by delivering production-grade systems and designing reference architectures.
• Guide customers through transformational big data projects, managing end-to-end design and deployment.
• Provide architectural guidance and implement customer projects for successful adoption of Databricks.
• Lead architectural and design decisions, ensuring security and scalability of solutions.
• Work collaboratively with Databricks technical teams and customers to meet technical requirements.
• Engage with customer teams to understand their challenges and deliver impactful solutions.
• Contribute reusable assets and best practices that influence the Databricks product roadmap.

Requirements

• 6+ years of experience in data engineering, data platforms, or software engineering.
• Proficient in coding using Python, Scala, JavaScript/TypeScript, and modern frameworks.
• Knowledge of multiple Cloud ecosystems (AWS, Azure, GCP) with expertise in at least one.
• Experience with distributed computing, particularly with Apache Spark™.
• Familiarity with CI/CD for production deployments and MLOps.
• Experience delivering technical projects and managing stakeholder expectations.
• Strong documentation and communication skills.
• Willingness to travel to customer locations 20% of the time.
• Databricks Certification is preferred.
