Staff AI Engineer | US | Remote @Grafana Labs

Overview

Grafana Labs is seeking a Staff Engineer (AI & Automation) to lead the AI agent infrastructure and automation platform for its Marketing Operations organization. This role is fully remote and targeted at candidates based in the United States.

Key Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end development of multi-agent AI systems, from architecture to ongoing operation.
• Build modular, composable agentic systems using orchestration frameworks that operate continuously across teams.
• Develop reusable agentic skills for various interfaces.
• Implement observability and feedback loops for AI workflows.
• Establish governance and compliance standards for AI workflows.
• Build APIs, CLIs, and microservices connecting AI models to business systems.
• Architect data flows connecting LLMs to internal knowledge bases and real-time business context.
• Partner with teams to identify automation problems and build measurable solutions.
• Design and deploy workflows using orchestration tools with standards for reliability.

Requirements

• 8+ years of software engineering experience with backend development and systems integration.
• 2+ years of hands-on experience applying LLMs/AI to production workflows.
• Proficiency in Python and JavaScript/Node.js.
• Experience with LLM frameworks and patterns.
• Familiarity with Google Cloud Platform, BigQuery, and serverless/containerized services.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to deliver end-to-end solutions.
• Clear communication skills to explain complex systems.
