Overview

Grafana Labs is the company behind Grafana Cloud, a fully managed observability platform. The company is seeking a Staff Backend Engineer for the Alerting team. This remote role is open to applicants from Ireland.

Key Responsibilities

• Influence the team roadmap and your own career objectives.
• Work collaboratively to deliver new features and iterate based on results.
• Drive projects from ideation to operational delivery.
• Contribute to the open-source culture and other projects outside your team’s scope.
• Design, build, operate, and maintain critical systems, ensuring reliability and performance.
• Participate in on-call rotations and take ownership of services.
• Mentor team members and engage in design discussions.
• Learn about the cloud product, customers, and the large distributed system codebase.

Requirements

• Motivated self-starter with a bias towards action.
• Customer-focused, with a passion for creating intuitive products.
• Ability to break down complex challenges for short feedback loops.
• Good collaboration and communication skills in a remote setup.
• Solid experience with at least one programming language (Go preferred, but Python, Java, C++, or Rust are also applicable).
• Experience delivering projects from requirements gathering to shipping to customers.
• Experience with Cloud software development or systems engineering.
• Ability to write clean, robust, and maintainable software.
