Key Responsibilities

• Build the core backend services: Design, implement, test, and operate services for context ingestion, indexing, retrieval orchestration, API access, and system administration.
• Create a scalable SaaS foundation: Define and build architecture for a multi-tenant service, including tenant isolation, usage tracking, and audit logs.
• Power agent-facing retrieval workflows: Build APIs and service interfaces for AI agents and internal applications to retrieve relevant context.
• Work across product and infrastructure: Make trade-offs between experimentation and long-term reliability.
• Operate what you build: Instrument services with metrics, logs, and alerts using observability tools.
• Contribute to technical direction: Help shape architecture, service boundaries, and engineering practices.
• Effective communication: Collaborate across teams in a dynamic environment.
• Ownership and impact: Ensure developed AI solutions are innovative, scalable, and aligned with user workflows.

Requirements

• Strong engineering skills with experience in building production-grade software systems.
• Familiarity with AI technologies and frameworks, with a focus on practical application.
• Experience with quick iteration and experimentation.
• Proven initiative in driving projects and managing ambiguity.
• Collaborative attitude with effective communication skills.
• Experience with LLMs, prompt engineering, and applications powered by GenAI.
• Exposure to working in cloud-native environments (AWS, GCP, Azure).
• Use of observability tools to understand and troubleshoot system behavior.

• Base compensation range in Germany: EUR 109,709 - EUR 131,651.
