The role of Staff Product Manager, OpenTelemetry involves developing strategies and overseeing the product roadmap for enhancing user experience with OpenTelemetry data in Grafana Cloud.

Key Responsibilities

• Define the vision, strategy, and cross-product roadmap for transitioning uninstrumented workloads to usable telemetry.
• Create user-friendly experiences for users to choose and implement instrumentation approaches.
• Identify and mitigate leading issues causing setup failures or low-quality telemetry.
• Establish criteria for success across product and engineering teams for the OpenTelemetry journey.
• Utilize customer research and product data to prioritize investments and assess outcomes.
• Collaborate with teams to ensure coherent user experiences from telemetry ingestion to product activation.
• Engage with OpenTelemetry ecosystem discussions, reflecting customer needs.

Requirements

• 5+ years of Product Management experience in developer tools or B2B product domains.
• Proven ability to lead strategy and execution across multiple teams without direct authority.
• Strong knowledge of OpenTelemetry and experience with instrumentation systems.
• Understanding of deploying software across various environments, including Kubernetes.
• Demonstrated ability to turn complex workflows into user-friendly experiences.
• Excellent communication skills for influencing diverse stakeholders in a remote environment.
