Staff Product Manager, OpenTelemetry | UK | Remote @Grafana Labs

Overview

Grafana Labs is a fully remote company that builds Grafana Cloud, a managed observability platform relied upon by more than 10,000 organizations. The Staff Product Manager for OpenTelemetry will focus on enhancing the customer experience related to OpenTelemetry workloads, ensuring users can easily instrument workloads and receive actionable telemetry data.

Key Responsibilities

• Define the vision and strategy for OpenTelemetry user experiences.
• Create coherent experiences for users implementing SDK instrumentation, automatic instrumentation, and Collector-based deployments.
• Identify and eliminate causes of setup failures and deliver high-quality telemetry.
• Use customer research and product data to prioritize investments and measure outcomes.
• Collaborate with various teams to ensure a seamless transition from telemetry ingestion to product activation.
• Engage with the OpenTelemetry ecosystem and represent Grafana Labs in discussions.
• Leverage AI tools to enhance customer research synthesis and prototype experiences.

Requirements

• 5+ years of Product Management experience in developer tools, observability, or data platforms.
• Experience leading strategy across multiple engineering teams.
• Strong knowledge of OpenTelemetry, including SDK instrumentation and Collector pipelines.
• Understanding of the challenges in deploying software in cloud environments.
• Ability to translate complex workflows into user-friendly product experiences.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills conducive to a remote work environment.
