Staff Product Manager, OpenTelemetry | US | Remote @Grafana Labs

Overview

Grafana Labs is a company focused on providing the Grafana Cloud, a fully managed observability platform. They are seeking a Staff Product Manager for OpenTelemetry to oversee the experience of users as they instrument their workloads and send telemetry data to Grafana Cloud. This is a remote position available to candidates in the United States.

Key Responsibilities

• Define the vision, strategy, and cross-product roadmap for telemetry from uninstrumented workloads to healthy data in Grafana Cloud.
• Create user experiences that guide selection and implementation of instrumentation methods.
• Identify and mitigate common causes of setup failure and ensure high-quality telemetry.
• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure a seamless experience from data ingestion to activation.
• Utilize customer research and data to prioritize product investments and measure success.
• Engage with the OpenTelemetry ecosystem to contribute insights and drive customer activation.

Requirements

• 5+ years of product management experience in developer tools or observability.
• Strong knowledge of OpenTelemetry including SDK instrumentation and telemetry data handling.
• Proven ability to lead strategy across multiple engineering teams.
• Excellent communication skills for influencing diverse stakeholders in a remote environment.
• Experience with automatic instrumentation and configuration products is a plus.
