Staff Software Engineer - Databases SRE | UK | Remote @Grafana Labs

Overview

Grafana Labs is seeking a Staff Software Engineer - SRE to support Grafana Cloud's highest value customers by enhancing the reliability of Cloud databases. This role is fully remote, available to candidates in the UK, Sweden, Spain, or Germany.

Key Responsibilities

• Partner closely with product engineering squads.
• Own production reliability for high-SLA and complex customer environments.
• Design and implement automation for reliability practices.
• Ensure customers meet SLO targets and define per-tenant SLOs.
• Reduce SLO burn and lead incident response and post-incident reviews.
• Contribute to design docs, code reviews, and influence feature design.
• Build automation to eliminate toil and improve alert quality.

Requirements

• 8+ years engineering experience, 4+ in SRE/CRE/production engineering.
• Strong Kubernetes experience in AWS, GCP, or Azure.
• Experience with multi-tenant systems and designing SLOs.
• Proficiency in one or more programming languages (e.g., Go, Python, Java).
• Familiarity with Linux internals and networking.
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Comfortable with incident response and post-incident reviews.
• Ability to collaborate with product engineering teams.
