Overview
The role of Technical Lead, Lending & Savings involves leading the engineering direction for Blockchain's core Consumer products: crypto savings and crypto-backed lending. This hands-on technical leadership position requires experience in building products from the ground up.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the technical direction and architecture of the Lending & Savings platform.
- Design and build scalable, secure, and highly available distributed systems.
- Make key architectural decisions balancing scalability, performance, security, and maintainability.
- Contribute production-quality code and review critical changes.
- Drive engineering best practices and mentor engineers through code reviews and leadership.
- Own the delivery of technical initiatives from design through production.
- Translate product requirements into technical solutions in collaboration with business leads and designers.
- Identify technical risks early and propose solutions.
- Collaborate with various teams to enhance user experience and platform reliability.
- Foster a culture of ownership and collaboration within the engineering team.
- Continuously improve engineering practices and productivity.
Requirements
- Strong experience in building backend systems using Kotlin or Java.
- Experience with distributed, event-driven systems using messaging technologies like Kafka.
- Knowledge of PostgreSQL and relational database design, along with experience in NoSQL technologies.
- Understanding of microservices architecture, APIs, and cloud-native applications.
- Experience with monitoring, observability, and incident response.
- Proven track record of shipping reliable production systems for financial transactions.
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
- Preferred experience in fintech or crypto products.
