Technical Project Assistant @Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO)

Overview

This Technical Project Assistant role offers the opportunity to support agricultural development programmes focused on crop production, farmer training, and value chain improvement in Basra, Iraq.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with crop management activities and the application of Good Agricultural Practices (GAP).
• Support Integrated Pest Management (IPM) implementation and post-harvest handling.
• Contribute to agricultural value chain development and training for farmers.
• Manage field data, prepare reports, and support monitoring and evaluation activities.
• Coordinate logistics for training and workshops, manage documentation, and support communication material preparation.

Requirements

• A university degree in Agriculture, Agronomy, Plant Protection, or a related field.
• At least three years of relevant experience in agricultural projects.
• Key technical experience in crop management, IPM, and data collection is preferred.
• Proficiency in Arabic is required; English is desirable.
• Medical fitness certification and security clearance are necessary.
