The Gates Foundation is seeking an experienced and strategic leader to fill the role of Deputy Director, Content, Campaigns and Digital for Africa.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead integrated communications strategies across content, campaigns, and digital platforms.
- Manage and mentor a multidisciplinary, high-performing team.
- Drive storytelling that reflects Africa’s diversity, authenticity, and development priorities.
- Strengthen the Foundation’s brand presence and media relationships across the continent.
- Advise senior leaders on messaging, positioning, and stakeholder engagement.
- Ensure data-driven decision-making through analytics and audience insights.
Requirements
- 12–15 years of senior-level experience in communications, marketing, or digital strategy.
- Proven success leading integrated campaigns across multiple African markets.
- Strong understanding of media ecosystems, audience engagement, and brand development.
- Experience operating within global, matrixed organisations.
- Exceptional storytelling, writing, and content development skills.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and scale high-performing teams.
- Proficiency in English, with French considered an advantage.
