Overview
The Loss and Damage Collaboration (L&DC) is seeking an experienced Senior Fundraising Lead to drive resource mobilisation efforts and secure funding for its climate justice mission. This remote, full-time freelance role operates 4 days a week.
Key Responsibilities
- Developing, maintaining, and expanding a prospect list of potential funders.
- Building and managing long-term relationships with current and prospective funders.
- Conducting outreach to introduce L&DC’s mission and work to new funders and partners.
- Leading the development of high-quality funding proposals, concept notes, and grant applications.
- Working with the communications team to craft tailored messaging and materials for potential funders.
- Organising briefings, technical sessions, and convenings to inform and engage funders.
- Tracking fundraising pipelines, managing donor databases, and supporting reporting.
Requirements
- Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in fundraising, resource mobilisation, or development.
- Demonstrated success in securing funding from foundations, philanthropic institutions, or government agencies.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to craft compelling narratives.
- Experience working with multidisciplinary teams and engaging senior stakeholders.
- Ability to work across cultures and regions, demonstrating cultural sensitivity and emotional intelligence.
- A deep commitment to climate justice, human rights, and social equity.
- Experience in climate, development, or social justice sectors is highly desirable.
- Strategic and critical thinking, effective communication, teamwork, collaboration, leadership, time management, accountability, adaptability, flexibility, and emotional intelligence are key skills.
