Overview
Together for Girls (TfG) is seeking a strategic and experienced Senior Manager, Safeguarding to lead and operationalize safeguarding practices for individuals with lived experience of violence and allies in advocacy, movement-building, and public-facing spaces.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as safeguarding focal point for TfG and Brave Movement events globally
- Conduct safeguarding risk assessments for all convenings
- Develop and implement context-specific mitigation strategies
- Refine safeguarding protocols for storytelling, advocacy, media, and virtual spaces
- Advise on consent, power dynamics, and participant wellbeing
- Ensure psychological safety is integrated into meeting agendas and facilitation plans
- Coordinate with external psychosocial support providers and build a global trauma-informed provider network
- Oversee crisis management and escalation pathways
- Monitor safeguarding outcomes and report on protocol effectiveness
- Design and deliver safeguarding and trauma-informed engagement trainings
- Develop toolkits and guidance for engaging individuals with lived experience
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to embed trauma-informed principles
- Ensure safeguarding considerations are incorporated early in project design
- Manage safeguarding-related budgets and contribute to donor reports
Requirements
- Degree in psychology, social work, trauma studies, public health, or related field, or equivalent experience
- Minimum of 6 years in trauma-informed programming, survivor advocacy, safeguarding, or psychosocial support roles
- Experience supporting individuals with lived experience in advocacy or public-facing roles
- Skilled in risk assessments, safety protocols, and facilitating psychologically safe group processes
- Deep understanding of ethical storytelling and consent practices
- Experience working in diverse, global, cross-cultural environments
- Strong judgment, crisis response skills, and decision-making under pressure
- High emotional intelligence, cultural humility, and stakeholder influence
- Fluency in English required; Spanish and/or French preferred

Salary is competitive and adjusted to the cost of labor in the candidate’s location:
- Nairobi, Kenya: Ksh6,228,750 – Ksh7,230,260
- London, UK: £65,300 – £73,340
