Overview
Brex is seeking an Underwriting Senior Analyst to ensure the smooth and efficient functioning of underwriting processes for their cards products. The company is known for its intelligent finance platform that enables businesses to manage spending effectively.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess credit quality of business credit card customers to determine repayment ability.
- Review bank statements and financial statements for customer underwriting.
- Handle intermediate-level underwriting escalations that require in-depth financial analysis.
- Proactively identify and recommend improvements to existing underwriting processes.
- Track and communicate key underwriting metrics to stakeholders.
- Build and maintain relationships across Risk, Sales, Engineering, and Product teams.
- Act as a subject matter expert in underwriting, assisting in knowledge sharing and mentorship.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics, or a related field.
- 1+ years of experience in underwriting, credit risk, or financial analysis.
- Understanding of GAAP/IFRS accounting standards and financial statement analysis.
- Familiarity with quantitative credit risk models and concepts such as probability of default.
- Proficiency in Google Sheets, Excel, and data analysis tools.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to communicate technical issues clearly and tactfully.
- Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams.
