The Associate Project Officer (Research) will support the design, development, and implementation of research programmes related to SEL and education for peace and sustainability.
Working under the supervision of the Senior National Project Officer (Research), the successful candidate will collaborate closely with research teams and programme staff to generate evidence that informs educational policy and practice.
The role focuses particularly on:
• Early childhood development
• Social and emotional learning research
• Educational assessment and measurement
• Learning sciences
• Cognitive and behavioural research
• Teacher capacity-building initiatives
The selected candidate will contribute to a wide range of research and programme activities.
Responsibilities include:
• Reviewing and synthesizing current research on SEL, education, and sustainable development
• Supporting the design of research studies aligned with SDG 4.7
• Assisting with data collection, coding, and analysis
• Contributing to evidence generation for policy and programme implementation
• Supporting cross-country pilot studies evaluating SEL programmes
The role requires strong analytical skills and experience working with quantitative data.
Key tasks include:
• Conducting statistical analysis using R, Python, or similar programming languages
• Managing research datasets and documentation
• Supporting the development of innovative SEL assessment tools
• Assisting in experimental and online assessment design
• Working with digital learning and research platforms
The officer will also help coordinate research activities and stakeholder engagement by:
• Organizing workshops, meetings, and field visits
• Supporting collaboration with schools and educational institutions
• Maintaining project records and implementation documentation
• Monitoring research progress and deliverables
• Preparing reports, technical notes, and presentations
