    Role Overview

    The Feminist Knowledge Leadership Assistant will support the implementation of UAF-Africa’s Knowledge Leadership Strategy by coordinating research, learning, documentation, and monitoring activities.

    Reporting to the Feminist Knowledge Leadership Coordinator, the successful candidate will contribute to:

    • Feminist research and knowledge production
    • Learning and documentation initiatives
    • Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning (MEAL) processes
    • Registry partnership management
    • Coordination of the Feminist Republik platform and Festival

    The position requires a proactive individual capable of independently managing assigned workstreams while collaborating effectively within a remote and multicultural team environment.

    Key Responsibilities

    Feminist Knowledge Production and Research

    The successful candidate will:

    • Coordinate feminist research and knowledge-generation processes
    • Support development of research methodologies and Terms of Reference (ToRs)
    • Assist in producing reports, publications, learning products, and trend analyses
    • Conduct desk research, stakeholder mapping, and literature reviews
    • Document feminist organising practices and movement trends across Africa

    Learning and Documentation Support

    Responsibilities include:

    • Coordinating documentation processes for the Feminist Republik Festival and related events
    • Supporting interviews, focus group discussions, and reflective learning dialogues
    • Preparing learning briefs, impact stories, synthesis reports, and narrative documentation
    • Ensuring all documentation aligns with feminist principles of consent, dignity, and narrative justice

    Registry Partnership Coordination

    The role also involves:

    • Managing communication with Registry partners
    • Tracking Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) and partnership deliverables
    • Monitoring data submissions and conducting quality assurance reviews
    • Coordinating advisory committee meetings and maintaining records of decisions and actions

    Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL)

    The position includes substantial support for organisational learning and data management activities.

    Key duties include:

    • Supporting data collection and reporting cycles
    • Coding and entering Registry grantee reports into data systems
    • Extracting and analysing programme data for learning and trend analysis
    • Coordinating internal learning sessions and knowledge-sharing processes
    • Maintaining organisational databases and records

    Candidates with experience in data management systems and MEAL frameworks will have a strong advantage.

    Support for Feminist Republik Festival and Convenings

    The assistant will contribute to the planning and implementation of major feminist gatherings and learning events.

    Responsibilities include:

    • Coordinating logistics and administration for festivals and convenings
    • Supporting agenda development and session planning
    • Liaising with facilitators, participants, consultants, and service providers
    • Assisting with event documentation and post-event reporting

    These activities are central to UAF-Africa’s efforts to strengthen feminist movements and collective learning across the continent.

    Qualifications and Experience Required

    Applicants must possess a bachelor’s degree in one of the following fields:

    • Women’s Studies
    • Gender Studies
    • Social Sciences
    • Political Science

    • Law
    • Communications
    • Research or related disciplines

    Candidates should also have:

    • At least three years of relevant professional experience
    • Experience in at least two areas including feminist research, programme coordination, MEAL support, or documentation and learning
