Overview

INTERSOS is recruiting a Psycho Social Support Officer for its protection programme in Zamfara State, Nigeria. This role focuses on delivering psychosocial support and case management services to internally displaced persons and vulnerable populations affected by ongoing insecurity and humanitarian challenges.

Key Responsibilities

Coordinate with community volunteers to identify psychosocial needs and provide appropriate responses.
Conduct psychosocial assessments and develop intervention plans.
Facilitate community sensitization activities and supervise community volunteers.
Provide continuous follow-up support to beneficiaries while maintaining confidentiality.
Coordinate referral pathways with relevant service providers and support service mapping.
Facilitate focus group discussions, contribute to programme reporting, and maintain documentation.
Support procurement and distribution of psychosocial materials.
Monitor programme activities and maintain positive relationships with community leaders and stakeholders.

Requirements

Higher National Diploma or equivalent in Social Work, Psychology, Counselling, or a related field.
2-3 years of experience working with vulnerable children and families in humanitarian or development settings.
Experience in the north-west region of Nigeria is preferred.
Fluency in Hausa is required.
Experience working in Zamfara or similar contexts is an added advantage.
