    INTERSOS, an independent humanitarian organization committed to assisting victims of natural disasters, armed conflicts, and social exclusion, is seeking to recruit a qualified candidate for the position of Field Logistics & Supply Officer in Zamfara State, Nigeria.

    The organization operates based on the principles of solidarity, justice, human dignity, equality of rights, and respect for diversity, with a strong focus on supporting the most vulnerable populations.

    The Field Logistics & Supply Officer will be responsible for overseeing and implementing logistics, supply chain, and ICT operations at the base level, ensuring that materials, infrastructure, and fleet systems are maintained in optimal condition to support project activities effectively.

    Key responsibilities include managing logistics information systems such as the INTERSOS Management Platform (IMP) and Inventory Management System (IMS), coordinating procurement processes in compliance with organizational and donor guidelines, and maintaining strong relationships with suppliers. The officer will also oversee warehouse and stock management, ensuring accurate inventory tracking, proper storage conditions, and prevention of stock losses or shortages.

    In addition, the role involves supervising facility management and ensuring that offices and guesthouses meet INTERSOS standards, as well as maintaining effective IT and communication systems for operational efficiency. The officer will support asset management processes, including tagging, tracking, and reporting of equipment, and will ensure proper fleet and transportation management, including vehicle maintenance, fuel monitoring, and adherence to safety protocols.

    The position further requires supervision of logistics staff and casual laborers, coordination of contractor activities, and support for the implementation of security measures in line with organizational policies. The officer will contribute to risk management, contingency planning, and the enforcement of safety procedures across operations.

    Applicants must possess tertiary education with formal technical training in a relevant field. A minimum of three years of professional experience in logistics and supply chain management is required, preferably within humanitarian or NGO settings. Experience with logistics software systems is considered an added advantage.

    Candidates must demonstrate strong organizational, planning, and problem-solving skills, along with high integrity and adherence to procurement ethics. Proficiency in computer applications such as Microsoft Word and Excel, as well as familiarity with communication equipment, is essential. Fluency in English is required, while knowledge of local languages is desirable.
