    🚨 Call for Applications: WASH Cholera Specialist (P3) – UNICEF Nigeria

    Are you an experienced WASH professional passionate about saving lives and strengthening public health systems? An urgent opportunity is open for a WASH Cholera Specialist (P3) to support the work of Nigeria through UNICEF in Maiduguri.

    This role focuses on delivering critical cholera preparedness and response interventions in high-risk and outbreak-affected communities across Borno and Yobe States, as part of initiatives supported by UNICEF’s mission.

    📍 Position Details

    • Location: Maiduguri, Nigeria
    • Duration: 3–6 months (urgent deployment)
    • Start Date: ASAP
    • Organization: DRRS supporting UNICEF Nigeria

    🎯 Key Responsibilities

    • Lead implementation of cholera WASH interventions in affected communities in line with UNICEF standards.
    • Coordinate with government, partners, and humanitarian actors—collaboration with UNICEF is essential for this role.
    • Support water quality monitoring, sanitation, hygiene promotion, and disinfection as part of the UNICEF-supported program.
    • Strengthen outbreak preparedness and rapid response systems, fulfilling UNICEF’s operational goals in the region.
    • Provide field-level technical support, supervision, and reporting for the UNICEF intervention.

    ✅ Requirements

    • Advanced degree in Public Health, Environmental Health, Engineering, or related field; previous work with UNICEF considered an asset.
    • Minimum 8 years’ experience in WASH, public health emergency response, or cholera programming, ideally in collaboration with UNICEF or similar organizations.
    • Proven experience in outbreak response coordination that includes activities linked with UNICEF or partners.
    • Experience in northeast Nigeria or similar humanitarian settings is a strong advantage, especially if aligned with UNICEF’s priorities.
