Overview
The World Food Programme (WFP) is hiring 3 Project Managers for the Information Technology Division. This is a fully remote position managing IT or digital projects within a humanitarian context.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the central point of contact between business units, technical teams, and external partners.
- Develop and implement project governance structures, communication plans, and work plans.
- Lead the entire project lifecycle from initiation to closure, including planning, risk management, and stakeholder communication.
- Manage project budgets and resources, ensuring adherence to WFP’s project management standards.
- Oversee the management of project risks through the organization’s risk register.
- Ensure technical deliverables meet high standards of quality, usability, and domain relevance.
- Facilitate testing and quality assurance processes, and establish mechanisms for product maintenance and rollout.
Requirements
- University degree in Business Administration, Economics, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of project management experience, preferably in IT or digital solutions.
- Proven record of successfully leading end-to-end project cycles.
- Experience managing cross-functional teams and stakeholder engagement.
- Experience with multi-vendor projects is advantageous.
- Deep understanding of Waterfall and Agile (Scrum) methodologies.
- Familiarity with project management software tools.
- Knowledge of IT software development, data analytics, and digital solutions.
- Strong problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
- Fluency in English (Level C) required.
- Working knowledge in a second UN official language is desirable.
