Overview

The World Food Programme (WFP) is hiring 3 Project Managers for the Information Technology Division. This is a fully remote position managing IT or digital projects within a humanitarian context.

Key Responsibilities

Serve as the central point of contact between business units, technical teams, and external partners.
Develop and implement project governance structures, communication plans, and work plans.
Lead the entire project lifecycle from initiation to closure, including planning, risk management, and stakeholder communication.
Manage project budgets and resources, ensuring adherence to WFP’s project management standards.
Oversee the management of project risks through the organization’s risk register.
Ensure technical deliverables meet high standards of quality, usability, and domain relevance.
Facilitate testing and quality assurance processes, and establish mechanisms for product maintenance and rollout.

Requirements

University degree in Business Administration, Economics, Information Technology, or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years of project management experience, preferably in IT or digital solutions.
Proven record of successfully leading end-to-end project cycles.
Experience managing cross-functional teams and stakeholder engagement.
Experience with multi-vendor projects is advantageous.
Deep understanding of Waterfall and Agile (Scrum) methodologies.
Familiarity with project management software tools.
Knowledge of IT software development, data analytics, and digital solutions.
Strong problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
Fluency in English (Level C) required.
Working knowledge in a second UN official language is desirable.
