Overview
The World Health Organization (WHO) is seeking a Consultant for Noncommunicable Diseases and Ageing to support collaboration with Kanagawa Prefecture, Japan, and the ME-BYO Global Strategic Center, focusing on population ageing and NCDs in the Western Pacific region.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate with Japanese counterparts, including establishing communication, tracking agreements, and managing external communications.
- Facilitate research collaboration and knowledge exchange by mapping partners, developing research ideas, and organizing workshops.
- Explore new collaborations with donors and corporate partners by identifying sponsors, creating engagement materials, organizing meetings, and maintaining a sponsorship tracker.
- Monitor progress and provide regular reports, including monthly activity reports and quarterly/annual progress reports.
Requirements
Educational Qualifications:
- Essential: University degree in public health, medicine, international relations, political/social sciences, administration, or related fields.
- Desirable: Advanced degree or PhD in related disciplines.
Professional Experience:
- Essential: Minimum of 5 years of hands-on coordination experience at an international level.
- Desirable: Experience in healthy ageing, NCDs, academic collaboration, donor engagement, and event management.
Skills and Knowledge:
- Strong understanding of healthy ageing and NCD prevention.
- Proven ability to develop work plans, proposals, and concept notes.
- Bilingual communication skills in Japanese and English.
- Excellent relationship-building skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office.
Languages:
- Fluent in English.
- Native Japanese proficiency is essential.
Benefits
Remuneration and Budget:
Monthly rate of USD 4,000 to USD 4,500, depending on experience.
