Overview
The Youth Climate Justice Fund (YCJF) is seeking a Development Associate to support its fundraising and donor engagement efforts. This remote role is ideal for an early-career professional passionate about climate justice and youth empowerment.
Key Responsibilities
- Draft Grant Proposals and Reports: Prepare compelling grant proposals, concept notes, and donor reports.
- Financial Reporting: Assist in basic financial reporting, including grant budget tracking.
- Document Management: Maintain organized records of all grant-related documentation.
- Fundraising Research: Conduct research to identify potential funders.
- Funder Briefs: Prepare summaries of prospective funders.
- Pipeline Management: Maintain and update prospect trackers and fundraising pipelines.
- Database Management: Organize and maintain development folders across shared systems.
- Donor Records: Coordinate and log donor interactions.
- Communication Logs: Support the maintenance of donor communication histories.
- Support Engagements: Assist in coordinating donor meetings and fundraising events.
- Preparation and Follow-up: Prepare background materials for meetings and track outcomes.
- Follow-up Coordination: Ensure timely follow-up with supporters.
Requirements
- 1-3 years of experience in nonprofit development, grant writing, research, or related fields.
- Exceptional written communication skills in English.
- Strong research, organizational, and multitasking abilities.
- Proficiency in Google Workspace and ability to learn new systems.
- Meticulous attention to detail and ability to manage deadlines.
- Ability to work effectively across diverse cultures and time zones.
- Deep commitment to climate justice, youth leadership, and equity.
- Familiarity with project management tools (e.g., Monday.com) is desirable.
- Lived experience or strong connection to frontline communities is a plus.
- Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills are desirable.
- Proficiency in multiple languages beyond English is a plus.
Benefits
Annual Salary: $40,000 USD
One-year consultancy contract, renewable subject to funding and performance.
Full-time (35 hours per week).
