AI Engineer - FDE (Forward Deployed Engineer) @Databricks

Overview

The AI Forward Deployed Engineering (AI FDE) team at Databricks is a specialized customer-facing AI team dedicated to delivering professional services engagements to assist customers in building and productionizing innovative AI applications. This role involves collaboration with various internal teams to drive long-term strategic initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop cutting-edge Generative AI (GenAI) solutions to address customer problems.
• Own the production rollouts of both consumer and internal-facing GenAI applications.
• Serve as a trusted technical advisor to customers across diverse domains.
• Present at conferences and act as a thought leader both internally and externally.
• Collaborate with product and engineering teams to influence priorities and shape the product roadmap.

Requirements

• Experience in building GenAI applications, utilizing tools such as HuggingFace and LangChain.
• Expertise in deploying production-grade GenAI applications and optimization techniques.
• Hands-on industry data science experience with tools like pandas, scikit-learn, and PyTorch.
• Experience in building machine learning deployments on AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Graduate degree in a quantitative discipline or equivalent practical experience.
• Ability to communicate technical concepts effectively to varied audiences.
• Passion for collaboration and lifelong learning in the AI field.
• [Preferred] Experience with the Databricks Intelligence Platform and Apache Spark™.
