Overview
CARE International is seeking an Advocacy and Communications Officer to lead integrated advocacy and communication efforts, enhancing project outcomes and influencing national and global nutrition agendas.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development and refinement of advocacy and communication strategies.
- Translate nutrition priorities into clear messaging frameworks.
- Participate in technical working groups and advocacy coalitions.
- Produce high-quality advocacy materials, including policy briefs and media kits.
- Support high-level policy dialogues and public engagement forums.
- Facilitate grassroots advocacy initiatives.
- Build relationships with media to promote advocacy messages.
- Manage digital platforms and content dissemination.
- Track advocacy performance and impact.
- Contribute to annual planning and donor reporting.
- Build strategic relationships with government, civil society, and private sector partners.
Requirements
- Degree in Communications, Journalism, or a related field.
- Minimum of five years’ experience in communications and advocacy.
- Proven experience engaging policymakers.
- Strong skills in strategic communication and multimedia content development.
- Knowledge of gender and human rights issues.
- Understanding of the local media landscape and the development context.
