Overview
The Cash Program Officer is a field-based role responsible for implementing cash transfer programs across targeted locations in Borno State, Nigeria.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, implement, and monitor cash-based interventions
- Ensure transparent and accountable delivery of cash assistance
- Engage directly with communities and stakeholders
- Oversee cash transfer activities in assigned locations
- Participate in all stages of implementation including targeting, registration, and monitoring
- Support community-based targeting and selection processes
- Maintain accurate beneficiary databases
- Organize and monitor cash disbursement processes
- Ensure transparency and compliance with IRC procedures
- Conduct sensitization sessions to inform beneficiaries about program objectives
- Support data collection, entry, and analysis
- Prepare weekly and monthly reports
- Supervise community volunteers and promote teamwork
Requirements
- Degree in a relevant field (e.g., Economics, Development Studies)
- Minimum of 3 years post-NYSC experience in Food Security & Livelihoods
- At least 2 years of experience in Cash Transfer Programming
- Strong experience in market assessments and beneficiary targeting
- Fluent in English; knowledge of Hausa and Kanuri is an advantage
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word)
- Willingness to travel (up to 30% of the time)
