Cash Program Officer @International Rescue Committee (IRC)

Overview

The Cash Program Officer is a field-based role responsible for implementing cash transfer programs across targeted locations in Borno State, Nigeria.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, implement, and monitor cash-based interventions
• Ensure transparent and accountable delivery of cash assistance
• Engage directly with communities and stakeholders
• Oversee cash transfer activities in assigned locations
• Participate in all stages of implementation including targeting, registration, and monitoring
• Support community-based targeting and selection processes
• Maintain accurate beneficiary databases
• Organize and monitor cash disbursement processes
• Ensure transparency and compliance with IRC procedures
• Conduct sensitization sessions to inform beneficiaries about program objectives
• Support data collection, entry, and analysis
• Prepare weekly and monthly reports
• Supervise community volunteers and promote teamwork

Requirements

• Degree in a relevant field (e.g., Economics, Development Studies)
• Minimum of 3 years post-NYSC experience in Food Security & Livelihoods
• At least 2 years of experience in Cash Transfer Programming
• Strong experience in market assessments and beneficiary targeting
• Fluent in English; knowledge of Hausa and Kanuri is an advantage
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word)
• Willingness to travel (up to 30% of the time)
