Cloud Software Engineer - Observability Platform @ClickHouse

Overview

ClickHouse is looking for an experienced Cloud Software Engineer to join their Observability organization. This role is focused on building and operating systems behind ClickHouse's internal observability and ClickStack Cloud.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate distributed systems for high-scale telemetry ingestion, processing, and storage.
• Own the reliability, performance, capacity, and cost-efficiency of telemetry pipelines and storage systems.
• Participate in on-call rotation, resolve production incidents, and drive root-cause fixes to completion.
• Build software and automation to eliminate repetitive operational work.
• Identify architectural bottlenecks and help shape the roadmap for future scaling.
• Collaborate with product, infrastructure, and service teams.
• Contribute to architecture and design reviews, raising engineering quality across the team.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience building and operating production systems at scale.
• Strong proficiency in Go.
• Experience with services on Kubernetes.
• Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code and GitOps tooling (e.g., Terraform, Helm, Argo CD).
• Production experience with a major cloud provider (AWS, GCP, Azure).
• Hands-on experience with telemetry systems (e.g., OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, Grafana).
• Bonus points for experience with ClickHouse, high-throughput ingestion systems, multi-tenant cloud services, and TypeScript.
