Compliance, Employment & Litigation Counsel @Fivetran

Overview

Fivetran and dbt are seeking an experienced Compliance, Employment & Litigation Counsel to join the Legal team. This role focuses on global compliance, employment counseling, and employment-related legal support across the United States and internationally, alongside managing various dispute and litigation matters.

Key Responsibilities

• Compliance:
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with ethics, export control, sanctions, anti-corruption, and conflicts of interest.
  • Conduct internal investigations and respond to compliance issues and inquiries.
  • Oversee compliance training and programs.
  • Stay updated on peer company best practices and global legal developments.
• Employment Counseling:
  • Advise the People Team and business partners on employment law matters.
  • Provide guidance on hiring, performance management, and workplace investigations.
  • Support organizational changes and draft employment agreements and policies.
• Litigation & Dispute Management:
  • Manage employment-related claims, arbitrations, and litigation matters.
  • Conduct investigations and manage outside counsel for legal matters.
  • Provide legal and business risk assessments.
• Cross-Functional Partnership:
  • Collaborate with business teams to deliver practical legal advice.
  • Contribute to special projects and initiatives for global growth.

Requirements

• J.D. from an accredited law school and licensed to practice law.
• 4-7 years of experience in compliance, employment, and/or litigation.
• Strong judgment and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Willingness to work across time zones, with some travel required.

Location

This is a hybrid position based in Denver, CO, or Oakland, CA, with a requirement to work in-person two days a week.
