In Nigeria, the National CSO Coalition to End Child Marriage comprises over 100 organizations actively driving advocacy, policy reform, and community-based interventions across all six geo-political zones.

📌 Assignment Overview
Girls Not Brides is seeking a qualified consultant (individual or team) to conduct a Child Marriage Situational Analysis in Northern Nigeria. This short-term consultancy will focus on identifying systemic solutions to end child marriage through policy reform, institutional strengthening, and advocacy.

🕒 Duration: 25 days (from contract start)
🏠 Location: Remote (with engagement of Nigerian stakeholders)
🗣️ Language: English (Hausa is an added advantage)
📍 Focus Area: Northern Nigeria

🎯 Purpose of the Assignment
The consultancy aims to assess the enabling environment for ending child marriage, with emphasis on:

• Policy and legal frameworks
• Political will and governance systems
• Funding and budget advocacy
• Institutional accountability
• Civil society engagement
• Cross-sectoral systems influencing outcomes

The analysis will prioritize structural and systemic interventions rather than direct service delivery, ensuring sustainable and scalable impact.

📋 Scope of Work
The selected consultant will:

• Conduct a comprehensive analysis of child marriage trends in Northern Nigeria
• Map key stakeholders, actors, and ongoing interventions
• Identify actionable opportunities for policy influence and system strengthening
• Develop practical, evidence-based strategic recommendations
• Propose priority geographic areas for future interventions

👤 Who Should Apply?

• Strong expertise in the child marriage landscape in Nigeria
• Experience working with government, NGOs, donors, and international agencies
• Proven track record in conducting situational analyses or program assessments
• Excellent analytical and report-writing skills
• Familiarity with Northern Nigeria context (highly essential)
• Working knowledge of Hausa (desirable)
