Contract: Senior Producer (project manager / delivery manager) @Portable

Overview

The role is for an experienced Senior Producer at Portable, focusing on project management and delivery leadership within various delivery teams. This position is contract-based and aims to fill an immediate gap while also building a pool of contract producers for future needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Leading delivery on projects end to end, ensuring scope, budget, and timelines are maintained.
• Quickly onboarding into new teams and environments to effectively contribute.
• Managing existing project teams and getting up to speed on ongoing initiatives.
• Writing and refining statements of work, tracking assumptions, risks, and dependencies.
• Facilitating stand-ups, workshops, and client check-ins.
• Coordinating research, design, and development efforts to ensure timely project execution.
• Providing delivery leadership during peak periods or team gaps.
• Supporting the identification, scoping, and bidding of new business opportunities.

Requirements

• Typically 8 or more years of experience in managing digital research, design, or technology projects.
• Ability to lead work independently with minimal oversight.
• Experience managing projects with significant budgets (ideally over $500k).
• Familiarity with agile and waterfall methodologies.
• Experience with common delivery tools such as Jira or Asana.
• Strong stakeholder communication skills and the ability to escalate issues appropriately.
• Experience delivering projects for government or nonprofit organizations.
• Comfort in providing and receiving constructive feedback.
