Overview

The Lead DevSecOps Engineer position at Hiya is a leadership and individual contributor role focused on maturing the security posture across all engineering departments. The role involves leading the design and implementation of automated, platform-based security solutions to enable secure software development while maintaining velocity.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and execute a multi-quarter security roadmap for the entire engineering organization.
• Develop and maintain platform-level security tools for automated, self-service security for feature teams.
• Integrate security primitives into standard CI/CD and cloud deployment workflows.
• Conduct cross-team discovery to assess current security posture and identify high-risk technical debt.
• Mentor junior and peer engineers to foster a culture of integrated security.
• Stay ahead of evolving threat landscapes concerning supply chain risks and large-scale AI infrastructure.
• Own and mature existing detection, SIEM, and incident-response tooling.
• Collaborate with IT on AI-usage risk management.

Requirements

• Deep understanding of cloud-native architecture (AWS) and modern security best practices.
• Proven experience designing "self-service" platforms that developers want to use.
• Strong communication skills for conveying complex security concerns.
• High proficiency in at least one modern programming language.
• Pragmatic approach to technical debt versus high-impact outcomes.
