Director, IT Operations @Instacart

Overview

Instacart's IT Operations team is critical for keeping over 4,000 employees productive and connected. The Director of IT Operations will lead IT Support, IT Logistics, and AV & Executive Support, managing a team of approximately 20 people and reporting to the Head of IT and Enterprise Security.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the IT Operations organisation across three functional teams — IT Support, IT Logistics, and AV & Executive Support.
• Set the strategic vision and operating model for IT Operations, aligning team priorities with broader company objectives.
• Deploy next-generation IT support, including AI-powered interfaces to improve employee experience.
• Manage international IT logistics to ensure seamless hardware provisioning.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to enhance IT services and corporate security standards.
• Drive innovation in IT operations by identifying and implementing industry-leading initiatives.

Requirements

• Proven track record of leading a large IT operations team in a mid-to-large technology company.
• Experience managing teams of 20 or more and overseeing multiple IT functions.
• Budget ownership for IT operations, managing budgets of $5M or more.
• Ability to lead organizational change and foster trust-based relationships.
• Familiarity with corporate engineering tools and concepts.
