Director, Product Design - AI & Context @Figma

Overview

Figma is looking for an experienced Design Leader to oversee the Context Platform Pillar, which encompasses several critical initiatives including Design Systems, Code, MCP, CMS, and Community. This role involves guiding and growing a team of world-class designers while collaborating with various teams to shape product and business strategy.

Key Responsibilities

• Hire, manage, and develop a multi-team design group.
• Partner with Product and Engineering leads to improve team processes and execution.
• Develop a perspective on the team's product areas and advocate for it across the organization.
• Lead critique, sprint, and design review practices.
• Advance people management skills in a supportive environment.
• Operate hands-on across both strategy and execution.

Requirements

• 5+ years of design management experience, ideally managing managers and leading teams through change.
• Deep understanding of AI developments, modern tooling, and component-driven design practices.
• Strong hands-on expertise with Figma's tools.
• Proven track record of cross-functional partnership to solve design challenges.
• Strong strategic thinking and communication skills.
