Engineering Manager, Credential Governance @1Password

Overview

1Password is seeking an Engineering Manager for their Credential Governance product, which aims to provide enterprises with a central view of company-owned credentials. This remote position is open to candidates in the United States and Canada.

Key Responsibilities

• Set the team’s strategic direction and connect it to company objectives.
• Build alignment and accountability around team goals and results.
• Partner with senior engineers and technical leaders to develop the team’s technical vision.
• Work with product, design, and other cross-functional partners to define solutions for customers.
• Scope and plan key deliverables, and guide the team through execution.
• Set a high quality bar through incremental delivery, clear communication, and continuous feedback.
• Provide technical leadership across the engineering organization.
• Coach and mentor engineers as they grow their skills and careers.
• Recruit and retain strong team members in an evolving environment.

Requirements

• Several years of experience managing engineers and leading the development and operation of a production service.
• A working understanding of web development and backend technologies.
• Experience building a healthy team environment where individuals feel supported and challenged.
• Proven ability to lead project delivery and maintain a roadmap connecting execution to long-term goals.
• Judgment about leveraging short-term friction for long-term value.
• Experience managing a remote or distributed team.
• Good judgment regarding the use of AI tools to enhance productivity while maintaining quality.
