Overview

As the Engineering Manager for the Service Platform team at Instacart, the role involves leading the group responsible for core deployment and release engineering systems. Key Responsibilities

• Lead product and reliability systems such as Temporal, Canary, and Deployments.
• Articulate priorities and balance the organization’s needs.
• Manage cross-cutting stakeholder relationships with a priority on customer needs.
• Navigate complex technical problem spaces and understand the deployment infrastructure end to end.
• Set the vision and drive execution for tools that enable world-class deployment and monitoring.
• Drive key reliability and platform initiatives across the team.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 2+ years of experience leading and managing people, with emphasis on large-scale distributed systems.
• 7+ years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages.
• Proven track record of launching high-impact products, particularly internal, developer-facing products.
• Strong proficiency in maintaining high standards for production services.
• Strong communication skills and ability to contextualize problems.
• Expertise in building platforms and high-scale infrastructure.
