Overview
The role involves hiring Field Engineers to partner with prospective and strategic customers in the Public Sector, serving as the technical face of SpaceXAI. This position aids federal civilian and defense agencies in modernizing software development practices by helping developers and program teams evaluate Cursor.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with Account Executives (AEs) to own technical discovery, demos, proofs of concept (POCs), and technical validation for new deals and expansions.
- Build trusted relationships with engineering, security, product, and IT stakeholders.
- Deeply engage in mission-critical, high-security environments related to developer workflows and AI tooling.
- Help customers link Cursor to important outcomes such as developer productivity and secure software delivery.
- Deliver technical presentations, whiteboards, and workshops for both technical and executive audiences.
- Act as the customer's technical advocate internally with Product and Engineering.
- Collaborate with post-sales teams to ensure smooth onboarding and successful handoffs.
Requirements
- Strong communication skills and the ability to present comfortably to executives.
- Understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and its operational impact.
- Hands-on technical fluency in workflows, AI tooling, and complex environments.
- Experience in Field Engineering, Solutions Architecture, Pre-Sales, or Consulting, particularly in federal or defense sectors.
- Excitement for the Public Sector and ability to quickly learn agency processes and security expectations.
- Possession or ability to obtain federal security clearance (active clearance is a plus).
