Forward Deployed Engineer, Applied AI @Juniper Square

Overview

Juniper Square is seeking a Forward Deployed Engineer to join their Applied AI team. The role involves working directly with general partner (GP) clients to develop AI-powered solutions for the private markets sector.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with GP clients to identify workflows that can benefit from custom AI agents.
• Support discovery phases and convert ambiguous business challenges into clear requirements.
• Manage the full development lifecycle of components from prototype to production.
• Design and implement agentic systems, integrating tools and ensuring reliability.
• Work hands-on with client-edge solutions while collaborating with platform and product engineering teams.
• Make informed engineering decisions that prioritize reliability, security, and maintainability.
• Provide post-launch support, iterate on user feedback, and produce necessary documentation.
• Train users and support rollouts to increase adoption.

Requirements

• 2+ years of professional experience in shipping production software, particularly AI-enabled applications.
• Ability to translate business needs into software requirements effectively.
• Capabilities in full-stack engineering across various domains such as data, services, and user interfaces.
• Working knowledge of major cloud services, containers, infrastructure as code, and CI/CD.
• Experience in client-facing roles, demonstrating communication skills to explain technical topics to non-technical stakeholders.
• Understanding of AI-assisted development and the importance of relevant software quality.
• Excellent written communication skills for documentation and client updates.
• Nice to have experience in private markets or financial services, application security, and consulting backgrounds.
