Overview

The Staff IT Engineer role at 1Password entails leading the Device Infrastructure Services team in transitioning to devops and AI-enabled operations. This remote position is open to candidates in the United States and Canada.

Key Responsibilities

• Own the technical direction of Device Infrastructure Services for ~2,000 endpoints.
• Drive the adoption of DevOps operating models, including config-as-code and CI/CD pipelines.
• Lead the integration of responsible AI across device operations.
• Act as the final escalation point for high-severity endpoint incidents.
• Partner with IT, Security, and product teams to deliver custom solutions.
• Assess new tooling and drive build-vs-buy decisions.
• Collaborate with product teams on enterprise device deployment features.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in IT and enterprise endpoint management with a track record in GitOps practices.
• Broad knowledge of enterprise endpoint management and operating system-level experience.
• Practical experience using AI tools in IT operations.
• Ability to define and drive technical roadmaps.
• Strong scripting and IaC skills (Bash, Python, Terraform).
• Deep understanding of enterprise security fundamentals related to endpoints.
• Excellent collaboration and mentoring skills.
