Forward Deployed Engineer II, Applied AI @Juniper Square

Overview

Juniper Square is seeking a Forward Deployed Engineer II to work with GP clients, leveraging modern AI solutions to resolve complex operational issues in private markets. This role is situated within the Applied AI unit, responsible for building and managing custom AI agents integrated with existing client systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with GP clients to identify workflows that can benefit from custom AI agents.
• Support the discovery phase, translating business problems into clear requirements.
• Oversee components throughout their lifecycle, from prototype to deployment.
• Design and build systems ensuring reliable performance and observability.
• Partner with engineering teams to align client-edge solutions with core systems.
• Make strategic engineering trade-offs balancing speed with reliability.
• Assist with post-launch support and iterate based on user feedback.
• Produce documentation and help train users for increased adoption.

Requirements

• 2+ years of professional experience developing production software, particularly AI-enabled applications.
• Ability to translate business needs into actionable software requirements.
• Full-stack engineering skills covering data, services, user interfaces, and infrastructure.
• Familiarity with cloud providers, CI/CD, and production monitoring.
• Experience working directly with clients and explaining technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong written communication skills for documentation and client updates.
• Additional qualifications include experience in private markets or financial services, knowledge of application security principles, and a background in consulting or professional services.
