Overview

The Grants Coordinator position is offered by Front Line Defenders. This is a full-time, permanent remote role focused on providing rapid and effective protection support to Human Rights Defenders (HRDs) who are at immediate risk.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the full lifecycle of grant applications and ensure effective support delivery across East and Southern Africa.
• Coordinate grant application processes, assessing eligibility and verifying application details.
• Analyse applications and make informed recommendations regarding HRD cases.
• Document case management, including maintaining accurate records and ensuring compliance with donor requirements.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including NGOs and funding partners.
• Monitor the impact of protection grants by following up with HRDs and documenting outcomes.

Requirements

• Fluency in written and spoken English.
• Strong understanding of human rights issues in East and Southern Africa.
• Ability to work under pressure and respond to urgent cases.
• Strong written communication and analytical reporting skills.
• Experience handling emergency or time-sensitive cases.
