Overview

Elastic is seeking a Principal Security Research Engineer for their Threat Research and Detection Engineering (TRaDE) team. The role involves shaping detection capabilities within Elastic Security, with a focus on enhancing defenses in AI security.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and execute security tests for GenAI applications and LLM-backed products, addressing various attack types.
• Investigate new threat vectors and attack methodologies to develop new security protections.
• Create and present findings to enhance team knowledge and community awareness.
• Utilize AI-assisted techniques to expand coverage and streamline threat research and detection processes.

Requirements

• Experience with endpoint data and awareness of GenAI detection engineering pitfalls.
• Hands-on experience using LLM tools for security testing and research.
• Experience with AI-assisted development tools and modern AI/ML frameworks.
• Ability to transition between projects and communicate findings effectively to technical audiences.
• Familiarity with Elastic Security Solution and proficiency in query languages for detection validation are advantageous.
• Experience in penetration testing or vulnerability assessments, with knowledge of OWASP Top 10 and MITRE ATLAS.
