Role Overview
Global Artivism seeks an experienced Fundraising Specialist to advance its resource development efforts.
The successful candidate will manage grants, foster funder relationships, and support strategic fundraising initiatives.
This role involves working closely with leadership and external partners to secure and sustain funding for the movement’s vital work.
Key Responsibilities
Prospect Research and Pipeline Development
- Map funding opportunities aligned with the movement’s mission
- Maintain a live grants pipeline and calendar
- Prepare funder profiles and prospect briefings
- Monitor funding trends, especially in arts, climate justice, and Global South contexts
- Identify new funding streams
Grants Management
- Oversee the full grants cycle: applications, tracking, reporting, and compliance
- Coordinate grant reports with program teams and the Operations Director
- Maintain accurate records of grants and deadlines
- Liaise with fiscal sponsors on financial reporting
Grant Writing and Proposal Development
- Write and coordinate compelling grant applications
- Translate movement work into funder-facing narratives
- Develop project budgets and work plans
- Ensure compliance with funder guidelines
Funder Engagement and Relationship Stewardship
- Cultivate relationships with funders
- Prepare updates and engagement materials
- Support leadership in funder meetings
- Represent Global Artivism at sector events
Systems and Documentation
- Maintain grants database and tracking systems
- Document processes for sustainability
- Provide fundraising projections for financial planning
Qualifications
Required
- Proven experience managing grants cycles for civil society, arts, or social justice organizations
- Successful track record in grant writing for international foundations or bilateral donors
- Strong research and narrative skills
- Familiarity with grants compliance and reporting
- Ability to work independently with ownership and accountability
- Excellent written English; multilingual skills valued
- Self-managed with understanding of tax and legal compliance in residence country
- Alignment with Global Artivism’s values and principles
Preferred
- Existing relationships with relevant funders or foundations
- Experience with Global South or Global Majority organizations
- Knowledge of cultural activism funding landscape
- Multilingual abilities related to Global South funders
Contractor Status & Compensation
This is an independent contractor role.
The contractor manages their own schedule, taxes, and business compliance.
Monthly payment ranges from USD $3,500 to $5,500, paid upon invoice.
Flexibility across time zones is expected, with scheduled meetings as needed.
