    Job Summary

    The Sabin Center for Climate Change Law is seeking a qualified lawyer for a one-year Global Climate Litigation Fellow position, with potential renewal.

    This role offers an opportunity to be at the forefront of climate litigation worldwide, tracking cases across jurisdictions, producing impactful legal research, filing amicus briefs, and coordinating the Global Network of Peer Reviewers on Climate Litigation.

    Key Responsibilities

    Research and Writing

    • Monitor and analyze climate litigation developments worldwide
    • Conduct original research, producing white papers and articles
    • Support management of the Climate Litigation Database

    Litigation and Advocacy

    • Prepare comment letters, amicus briefs, and submissions for judicial and administrative proceedings
    • Identify strategic engagement opportunities in ongoing cases
    • Collaborate with NGOs, international organizations, academics, and practitioners

    Convening and Global Engagement

    • Assist in organizing conferences, webinars, and seminars
    • Translate research into accessible outputs for policymakers, advocates, and the public

    Network and Project Management

    • Coordinate the Global Network of Peer Reviewers on Climate Litigation
    • Manage case intake, review, and database updates
    • Organize meetings and collaborative research projects within the network

    Qualifications

    Minimum Qualifications

    • J.D. or international equivalent, or advanced legal degree (LL.M., JSD, PhD)
    • Strong academic record and interest in climate change, environmental, or administrative law
    • Excellent legal research, writing, and analytical skills

    Preferred Qualifications

    • 0-3 years of relevant legal experience (clerkships, litigation, NGO or government work)
    • Experience or strong interest in climate litigation and jurisdictional practice
    • Familiarity with comparative or international law

    Compensation

    Salary Range: $80,000 – $95,000
    The final salary will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and other factors.
