    Project Title:
    Child Birth Spacing, Maternal Health and Reproductive Rights Project

    Background:
    BBC Media Action, in collaboration with SWODEN, is implementing a multi-platform project aimed at promoting child birth spacing, improving maternal health, and advancing reproductive rights across selected Local Government Areas (LGAs) in Kano and Kaduna States.

    The initiative adopts a comprehensive communication strategy that includes radio dramas, community dialogues, social mobilization activities, and digital engagement. These approaches are designed to address harmful social norms, misconceptions, and systemic barriers that negatively affect family planning and maternal health practices.

    Through evidence-based communication and active community engagement, the project seeks to enhance access to accurate reproductive health information and services while contributing to improved maternal and child health outcomes in the target communities.

    Desirable Qualifications and Experience:

    • Prior experience working within communities in Northern Nigeria
    • Familiarity with media-based Social and Behavior Change Communication (SBCC) approaches
    • Experience collaborating with government institutions and development partners
    • Knowledge of safeguarding principles and accountability frameworks

    Code of Conduct:

These include safeguarding, child protection, prevention of sexual exploitation and abuse (PSEA), confidentiality, gender sensitivity, accountability, and professional ethical standards throughout the duration of the project.
