Overview
The Grants Manager position at Asia Pacific Forum on Women, Law and Development (APWLD) is a senior-level opportunity for professionals with extensive experience in development work, fundraising, and grants management. This role will focus on managing APWLD’s sub-grants portfolio while supporting donor engagement and resource mobilization efforts.
Key Responsibilities
- Supporting grant proposal development and participating in donor engagement processes
- Contributing to resource mobilization strategies and identifying funding opportunities
- Developing and maintaining a comprehensive database of donors and grants
- Leading oversight of donor contracts and ensuring compliance throughout the grant lifecycle
- Coordinating the preparation of high-quality donor reports that align financial and programmatic data
- Managing sub-grant processes, including due diligence, disbursement, and monitoring
- Strengthening internal policies and procedures for grant-making and financial accountability
- Identifying and mitigating financial and political risks affecting funding sustainability
- Providing guidance and technical support to teams on sub-grant management
- Supervising and mentoring interns, volunteers, and staff where applicable
- Representing the organization in regional and international forums when required
Requirements
- Minimum of eight years’ experience in development work, women’s human rights, or social movements
- At least three years of managerial experience in fundraising and grants management
- Demonstrated commitment to feminist principles and women’s human rights
- Strong understanding of political, economic, and socio-cultural dynamics in Asia and the Pacific
- Proven experience in donor relations and large-scale fundraising initiatives
- Ability to manage complex, multi-program grant portfolios
- Academic background in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Social Sciences, or related fields
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
