Overview
The Human Resources Officer supports the HR Manager in all aspects of HR operations, including recruitment, employee relations, staff benefits and compensation, performance management, and training.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in field officer (FO) selection and conduct in-person interviews at the LGA level.
- Lead in-person interviews of shortlisted candidates with local teams.
- Escalate gaps or noncompliance to HR Manager.
- Liaise with SR unit and community leaders to recruit local talent.
- Promote job ads on social media and professional networks.
- Schedule interviews, conduct reference and background checks.
- Provide feedback for concluded recruitment exercises.
- Maintain recruitment tracking using GSheets.
- Ensure new employees complete pension and NHF registration.
- Assist in new office account opening during onboarding.
- Liaise with PFAs, NHF, NSITF, and tax offices for remittances.
- Conduct physical training sessions for new hires.
- Maintain up-to-date employee records.
- Review leave applications on Zoho and ensure proper documentation.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the HR Manager.
Requirements
- BSc or BA in Business Administration, Social Sciences, or equivalent.
- 2–5 years in general HR functions.
- 1–2 years in NGOs, non-profits, or (I)NGOs preferred.
- Residing in target locations is an advantage.
- Detail-oriented and diligent.
- Process-driven with knowledge of legal and logistics processes.
- Strong organizational, time management, and multitasking skills.
- Cultural awareness and ability to work in multicultural environments.
- Leadership and managerial capabilities.
- Ability to work under pressure and deliver high-quality results.
- Excellent communication skills in English, Hausa, and local dialects.
- Proficiency in MS Office, Google Docs, Sheets, Slides, and ICT tools.
- Motivated to work in a dynamic, lean, and young organization.
