Overview
The World Bank Group is seeking a talented Lead Evaluation Officer to join its Independent Evaluation Group (IEG), leading evaluations within the Economic Management and Country Program Evaluation (IEGEC) unit.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and advise on evaluations of IEGEC and support the evaluation work of the team
- Design, implement, and disseminate evaluation products such as Evaluation Insight Notes and Learning Engagements
- Provide strategic and technical guidance on evaluation quality and work programs
- Engage with operational teams and development partners to promote learning and accountability
- Mentor IEGEC staff and contribute to organizational and policy discussions
- Oversee validation of Implementation Completion Reports and Country Learning Reviews
Requirements
- Master’s or PhD in a relevant field
- 12-15+ years of operational and analytical experience, preferably in Country Programs and Prosperity sectors
- In-depth knowledge of World Bank, IFC, or MIGA operations, especially in Prosperity and Country Program products
- Strong evaluation management skills and experience in leading complex analytical products
- Independent judgment, evidence-based assessment capabilities
- Proven team leadership, mentoring, and collaboration skills
- Excellent communication, diplomatic, and negotiation skills
- Ability to operate with a sense of urgency, challenge the status quo, and promote accountability
