Overview

The role of Manager (Forward Deployed Engineering) involves hiring and managing Big Data Engineers/Architects while supervising customer projects in their Databricks journey, providing guidance and support to achieve strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• Hire great people and provide technical guidance, career development, and mentoring to team members.
• Participate in key technical and design discussions as a hands-on manager.
• Lead the development of IP, reusable tooling, and assets for professional services teams and partners.
• Partner with key business stakeholders to prioritize work and create products to support the data platform.
• Manage a team of technical data engineers to achieve goals.
• Act as the first point of escalation for customer inquiries.
• Provide input to improve internal processes and customer success offerings.
• Build and leverage customer relationships throughout the sales and delivery process.

Requirements

• 12+ years of industry experience.
• 6+ years in a customer-facing role.
• 4+ years leading a technical team of Data Engineers/Architects.
• Extensive experience in the Big Data ecosystem (Spark, Hadoop, Cassandra, etc.).
• Knowledge of AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Familiarity with the Databricks ecosystem is a plus.
• Strong documentation and project management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple engagements while ensuring high customer satisfaction.
• Excellent people skills for collaboration with stakeholders.
• Understanding of business issues faced by customers in various industries.
• Experience estimating efforts and scope for services.
