Overview
The Operations Officer will provide comprehensive operational support to program activities, ensuring efficient and compliant delivery of humanitarian assistance.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement procurement processes in line with Mercy Corps policies and donor regulations.
- Support staff in preparing clear purchase requests and documentation.
- Collect vendor quotations and ensure fair, transparent bidding processes.
- Conduct regular market surveys and supplier evaluations.
- Maintain procurement records and ensure proper documentation.
- Monitor vendor payments and follow up on pending transactions.
- Support asset tracking, tagging, and inventory control.
- Conduct periodic asset verification and ensure proper maintenance.
- Report damaged or missing equipment to management.
- Maintain accurate inventory records for office and field assets.
- Support fleet management operations, including vehicle tracking and maintenance.
- Maintain office filing systems and manage correspondence.
- Support office operations, including supplies, logistics, and guest coordination.
- Ensure proper storage, tracking, and movement of commodities.
- Provide operational support to deep field offices (procurement, logistics, admin).
- Ensure adherence to organizational policies and donor requirements.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or related field.
- Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in operations, procurement, logistics, or supply chain.
- Experience working with NGOs or donor-funded programs is highly preferred.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and negotiation skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Fluency in written and spoken English required.
