Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate core components of the next-generation Serverless Elasticsearch offering.
• Improve Elasticsearch components for concurrent and consistent indexing across machines.
• Maintain the cluster coordination system for optimal performance.
• Push limits on shard, node, and petabyte handling by Elasticsearch.
• Address performance or concurrency issues and propose solutions.
• Support engineers in resolving complex problems.
• Manage operational investigations to resolve performance or stability issues.

Requirements

• Deep background in distributed systems and consensus algorithms.
• Strong skills in core Java and familiarity with data structures and concurrency constructs.
• Technical proficiency in algorithms.
• Experience building large-scale distributed systems.
• Ability to manage projects involving multiple engineers.
• Experience in using AI for development acceleration and debugging.
• Strong autonomous working and communication skills.
