Overview

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate core components of the next-generation Serverless Elasticsearch offering.
• Improve Elasticsearch components supporting concurrent and consistent indexing across multiple machines.
• Maintain the cluster coordination system for high performance as nodes come and go.
• Pushing limits on shards, nodes, and petabyte handling in Elasticsearch.
• Investigate various issues, including performance and concurrency issues, and propose solutions.
• Assist support engineers with complex problems.
• Conduct operational investigations until performance or stability issues are resolved.

Requirements

• Deep background in distributed systems and consensus algorithms.
• Strong skills in core Java and knowledge of the standard library.
• Technical proficiency in algorithms.
• Experience in building large-scale distributed systems.
• Experience in managing projects involving multiple engineers.
• Proven track record of using AI to optimize code and debug complex systems.
• Ability to collaborate across functions and manage multiple projects effectively.
• Capable of autonomous work with strong decision-making and communication skills.
